Winter Escape Specials at Algarve-Watersport

This December to March we are in Portugal, which means you can escape the cooold winter in the north to score some beautiful winter swells in the mild climate of the most south western tip of europe. Winter is actually the best time to get waves at the South and West Algarve, have a look on the surf forecast here.

Just catch a cheap flight to Faro or Lisbon, hop on the train or bus to Lagos and we will take care of the rest. Borat, our surf guide will take you to the best surf spots the Algarve has to offer. No need to bring equipment we provide mini mals, short- and fish surfboards from Bic and nice and warm 5/3 mm wet suits, ( 3/2mm is fine as well).

You are staying in the kite house our hostel in the center of Lagos. The day starts with a nice breakfast before we decide where we are going to surf. Borat will show you the south and west coast to find the right spot for you and paddel out to make sure you are comfortable with the surf.

In the evening you have a lot of restaurants to choose from in Lagos or you can cook your own dinner in the kitchen of the kite house. BBQ can be an option as well.
In winter there is not to much going on at night in Lagos so prepare to chill in the living room with a book, surf the net or spend some time on our playstation.

If you are keen to go kiteboarding and we don´t have surfers Borat will take you to the kite lagoon outside of Lagos on a private kitesurfing course*.

If you prefer to stay in a different accommodation option, no problem!

Surf & Salsa Camp

Last season we witnessed a couple of spontaneous Salsa Partys in our camp and on Saturday nights in the salsa bar in Lagos was also very popular. So this year we make it official:

28. April - 5. May 2012

You will stay in our camp house in Lagos. After breakfast we will go to the surf beach on the west coast. Here our friendly surf instructors will get you on the waves and (hopefully) up and standing in no time. After the first surf session we will have a beach picnic for lunch and you can rest a little before the second session. If you prefer to chill on the beach, ... no problem! Around 4 pm the camp bus will take you back to Lagos. More infos about the surflessons... here!

The evening program is hosted by our salsa teacher Roy. He will pick you up at the camp and show you the different locations for the 90 minute salsa lesson every evening. Dance locations can be portuguese adegas, beach bars or a terrasse above the roofs of Lagos. After the lesson we will have dinner together in one of the many nice restaurants in town. Who still has to burn off energy?... The famous nightlife of Lagos is waiting. On Saturday we will have our final salsa party at our base salsa bar “Mìtico”.

Our dance teacher Roy speaks english, german and portuguese. He had been dancing standard and latin american style for a long time, than he discovered his love for salsa, merengue, bachata and kizomba and works now for a couple of years as a dance teacher for cuban salsa. Despite his age (29) Roy is a veteran of the “algarvian salsa”.
